Hello everyone!
I'm Dr Ilham, and it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm your Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist.
about me
I graduated from the University of Liverpool, and subsequently worked for several years in the UK. I mainly did rotations in the different subspecialities within Internal Medicine such as Respiratory medicine, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Nephrology and Geriatric medicine. During this period of time, I obtained my Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP).
I then came back to Malaysia, and consolidated my experience in Internal Medicine by working as a medical officer and later as a general physician in Hospital Sungai Buloh.
I subsequently started my subspecialty training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, gaining knowledge, experience, and skill, working with wonderful mentors in Hospital University Sains Malaysia, Hospital Ampang, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, and Hospital Queen Elizabeth, Kota Kinabalu. I did Advanced Endoscopy training at Hospital Queen Elizabeth, focusing mainly on Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
After completing my Gastroenterology and Hepatology training, I served as Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Hospital Al Sultan Abdullah in Puncak Alam, Selangor. I now work in Sunway Medical Centre Damansara.
When I’m not working, I like to read books, do a bit of exercise and cook for my hungry children.
